21st May 2016

All Saints’ Primary School Saturday Football Club – Saturday 21st May 2016

It is the end of the season.

This is our final football session of the academic year.

All teams will be training with a mix of parents v kids games and other activities. Y4 end the season with friendlies against local rivals John Ball.

We will meet on the heath, between the School and the Church at 10am to 11:30.

Please

  • try to arrive 10-15 minutes before so that we can begin on time
  • make sure you bring along a cold drink, preferably water

A look back at the season

We have had a very successful season with more than 100 players and averaging 85 each week. Our shirt sponsorship from local estate agents JLL has been very beneficial and has provided all players with new kit this season. We hope that this will continue next year.

All the teams are well established and it is great to get the Girls team going again and competing in the Lewisham League after a break for several years.

Y6 had a very successful season finishing third in their league with only one point and goal difference separating the top teams.

Y5 and Y4 have had tough seasons in the league but have shown considerable development and great team spirit.

The younger teams are all full of enthusiasm and Y3 are looking well prepared for their first league games next year.

But is not all about winning matches – just look at the commitment of the players and their happy, smiling faces.

And looking forwards

Football will restart in September. Meanwhile, there will be cricket starting after the half term holiday on Saturday 11th June. Any parents wishing to help (cricket experience is not essential) please contact me.
