Reading
Helping your child choose books can be tricky, in response to questions from parents and carers about which books and authors to choose, we have put together this suggested reading list. It is NOT a compulsory or exhaustive reading list. It is a set of ideas to help get your children into different types of books and authors.
Please click the pictures below for the relevant book lists.
Phonics
In Reception and Key Stage 1 phonics is taught every day. We use the government validated Little Wandle scheme for teaching reading and phonics.
The resources on this page will help you support your child with saying their sounds correctly and writing their letters. There are also some useful videos to help you feel confident about supporting their reading at home. https://www.littlewandlelettersandsounds.org.uk/resources/for-parents/
We hold a phonics workshop to show parents how phonics is taught at All Saints' and provide packs to help you consolidate what we are learnng in class. There is also an opportunity to ask questions and see the resources we use.
Collins books are allocated electronically and are closely matched to the children's phonic knowledge and the progression of Little Wandle Revised Letters and Sounds.
